Colourpop Lite Stix Highlight Review

2 of 6

Colourpop Lite Stix | About the Product:

The Colourpop Lite Stix launched in the beginning of this summer and I was immediately intrigued! As I mentioned in my last post, Colourpop is a brand that’s consistently launching product left and right, but when they launched their Lite Stix, I felt like I just needed to give it a shot. The Lite Stix is a cream product that comes in a stick (hence the “Stix” part of the name) and it is available both in blush formulas as well as highlighters. On the Colourpop site, there are 18 shades available for the blushes ranging from bright orange blushes all the way to more natural muted nudes and pinks.

Regarding the Highlight, Colourpop has 8 shades of the highlighter listed on their site and the colors range from icy pearl to deep bronze shades. There are so many options with both products! The blushes and the highlighters both retail for $8, and they are also sold at Ulta Beauty, both online and in-store. In this post, I’ll be reviewing a Lite Stix highligh!

Colourpop Lite Stix Product Claims:

Since I only have a Lite Stix highlighter, I’ll be giving you all of the details and the full scoop on the product. Unfortunately, I haven’t tried out a blush stick yet, but, don’t fret because I can totally see myself picking up one of them in the near future. Now, back to the product claims!

According to the Colourpop Site, the highlight sticks are marketed as easy-to-use, lightweight, and hydrating. Additionally, it’s claimed that the product blends like a dream and glides on effortlessly when applied. All of those claims make it sound like this product is a total dream; but is it? Let’s find out!

My Experience with Colourpop Lite Stix:

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, one of my favorite steps in my makeup routine is when I apply highlight. I’ll admit, I definitely, totally, completely admit that I sometimes apply way too much. But I just can’t help it! When looking at my top favorite highlighters, a trend that I can notice is that I love a highlight that’s blinding and just makes my face glow.

Now, although I absolutely adore highlighter, I’ve always been a powder product kind of girl. For some reason I’ve just been a little intimidated by a cream highlighter because I didn’t know what was the right way to apply it and I was also worried that it would lift up the foundation that was underneath it. With that said, I honestly avoided cream highlight for as long as I’ve worn makeup. I would find my ideal powder product and stick with it without getting out of my comfort zone.

Well, that all changed when I found out about this product! Since I’ve started to be more on top of Colourpop’s launches, there was something about these Lite Stix that just made me feel as though I needed to pick one up. One day when I was at Ulta, I stumbled across these, swatched a few, and I was SOLD! I picked up my highlight in the shade “Star Brite” which is described as an icy white Champagne. When swatching the product, it feels so smooth and creamy, truly feels like a dream. I apply this product with either my hand in a tapping motion to not mess up my foundation, or, with a semi-stiff duo fiber brush. When I say this product is amazing, I mean it’s AMAZING!

My Experience with Colourpop Lite Stix Continued:

I love how bendable it is and it’s also super build-able. Meaning you can go from a subtle sheen or glow to all the way full blown metallic glittery highlight goodness. This product just melts into your skin, becomes one with it, and just looks like a healthy and beautiful glow from within. One thing that I noticed is that this product is a tiny bit glittery. Thus, if you’re not really a fan of highlights that have any glitter at all, this product might not seem as amazing in your eyes. One other thing that I love about this product and particular shade, is that you don’t have to wear it with any makeup underneath for it to look gorgeous. Just tap into the product with your finger, dab a little bit on the top of your cheekbones, and it looks just like a totally natural glow from within; absolutely stunning!

Now, let’s take a look at the value for the money. This product retails for $8 for 0.33 oz. I decided to be brave and I twisted up the highlight just to see how much product is in the tube. Thank goodness it didn’t break, and I was so so impressed! There’s such a good amount of product and since a little goes a long way, I feel like it’s 100% worth it!

What do Others Say about Colourpop Lite Stix?

When looking at Ulta.com, the product has 4.4 stars out of 5. Reading the positive reviews, most of them touch on the fact that these sticks are easy to blend out, look natural, and that they love the shades! On the Colourpop site, the positive reviews say that it looks natural, is easy to blend, long-lasting, and the perfect highlighter for a natural look. While reading the negative reviews, on Ulta’s site, the negative reviews touch on that the product is too glittery for their liking, it was hard to blend, and that it picked up the foundation that was applied underneath. On Colourpop’s site, there were actually no negative reviews on the product; I am truly shocked. I feel that this may be the case because people who actually purchase these products directly through the site may just be really big fans of the brand and don’t really see a negative!

Verdict –> 4.5/5 ‘Hearts <3’!

When purchasing this product, I had no idea that I would love it this much! It’s so blendable, easy to build up, easy to apply, has a gorgeous color, and it really gives the skin that GLOW. I felt like I had to take 1/2 a point off of the score because I still prefer using a powder highlight because that’s just something I’m used to and I’m totally a creature of habit. Overall, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend checking this product out and giving it a shot; I hope you all love it as much as I currently do!
