The Review:
Before using the Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleaning Water, my expectations were honestly pretty low. I didn’t think a water-based product was going to be able to break up and remove all of the makeup on my face; foundation, mascara, and all the works. (Side note: I have oily skin so I decided to purchase the All-in-1 Mattifying version, however, they also have a regular All-in-1 version as well as a All-in-1 Version specific to removing Waterproof makeup.) After using it the first time, I was so impressed!
I apply a good amount of the water to a cotton round and then just wipe away. It removes makeup instantly and the best part, it doesn’t just wipe the makeup around, it actually removes it. I usually repeat once, so I use a total of 2 rounds, and my face is makeup free. An additional bonus of the product is that it does not have any fragrance. It really feels as if you are rubbing plain water on the skin. Lately, I have been more conscious about the ingredients that are in the products which I put on my face. One ingredient in particular, is one which I try to veer away from. That ingredient: Alcohol. Alcohol in skincare can increase oiliness of skin, enlarge pores, and cause irritation. This (Garnier Skin Active) Micellar Cleansing Water does not contain any alcohol which is a huge bonus because it has never caused any excess oiliness and (thankfully) has not enlarged my pores.
