Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara
One thing about me is that I’m a huge mascara junkie. I can seriously never have enough and although I already have a bunch of mascaras, I constantly want to try out more and more. I’m always on the hunt for a mascara that’s better than the next, and, one to add to my collection of all-time favorites.
If you’re a fan of watching YouTube beauty gurus, then chances are you’ve heard about the Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions mascara. Pretty much everyone under the sun was raving about this mascara and how it has become their holy grail product. Although I was intrigued because like I mentioned, I’m absolutely obsessed with mascara, I didn’t really want to pick it up since it was only sold online and I couldn’t get a chance to see what the wand really looked like in person and if it was going to work for me.
Call me crazy, but I tend to veer away from brands that are sold almost exclusively online because I’m a huge fan of seeing the products up close, the packaging, and everything in between before I make the decision to purchase it.
Fast forward to the Holiday Season that just ended. I got the Thrive Cosmetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara as a gift and I was so excited to finally see what the hype was all about. Now that I’ve been using this mascara almost daily for about 2 weeks, I feel like my thoughts on this product are totally formed and I’m ready to share them all with you!
All About the Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara
First off, let’s talk about the basics. What is the Thrive Causmetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara in the first place? The Thrive mascara is an award-winning mascara that is powered by technology that won’t flake, clump, or smudge when worn. Sounds pretty amazing already!
This mascara is a tubing mascara, meaning that it has tubing technology that will work to lengthen and fortify each eyelash from root to tip, and it is also very easy to remove. A tubing mascara is easier to remove because the formula is meant to literally glide off of your lashes whenever you are ready to remove it, and all you need is some warm water. No makeup removers or soap are required.
Lastly, this mascara contains Orchid Stem Cell complex which works to encourage longer and healthier looking lashes over time. The formula also has various yummy ingredients all meant to make your lashes look gorgeous and to be healthy. Some ingredients in the formula include Korean Pasque flower extract, Castor Seed Oil, Shea Butter, and Youth B5 Complex. If you want to know exactly what each of these delicious ingredients does, I would recommend checking out the Thrive site, where they will explain the A to Z and exactly why each of these ingredients is important to their formula!
Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara Review
Now that we’ve covered the A to Z about the mascara and the formula, let’s get into my thoughts and experiences with this product. When it comes to mascara, I typically look for a product that will really lengthen my lashes, add volume and curl, and also not flake, smudge or clump throughout the day. I also wanted to add that I’ve never really been a fan of false lashes simply because I’m not the best at applying them, so I’m always looking for mascaras that will my make eyes pop and look as if I have falsies on. I also look for mascaras to be buildable, meaning I can layer the formula to get thicker-looking lashes and it won’t get clumpy.
Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara | Packaging
First, let’s talk about the packaging of the product. In my opinion, the packaging isn’t really a make or break kind of thing when it comes to makeup products. Although it’s nice to have great packaging since it’s the first thing that you see when it comes to the product, it isn’t a must-have for me that a product has stunning packaging.
The mascara came in a standard cardboard packaging with gorgeous sea-green color. When I took out the tube of mascara, the first thing that I noticed was how heavy the component was. The tube was very weighted and it made it feel super luxe.
Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara | The Brush
When I looked at the wand of the mascara, I was immediately a bit skeptical because I wasn’t sure this mascara was going to give me the length and curl that I love so much. The brush is pretty straight and has many little spikes on it. For reference, it has a brush that is similar to the Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara. Mascaras that typically have this kind of brush are fantastic at lengthening your lashes, so I was definitely excited to give it a try but I was curious to see if it would also curl my lashes and some volume.
Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara | My Experience
To give the mascara a true test and to see what it really does for my lashes, I applied it on my lashes without any mascara primer. I’m personally a huge fan of mascara primer since I feel like it really adds an extra oomph to the final look, however, I didn’t want to use it during my first application so I can see what this product was really all about. The second that I used the Thrive Mascara I was SHOCKED at what it did to my lashes.
My lashes have seriously never been longer, whispy, and just plain gorgeous. I built the formula and added a few layers to see exactly what would happen and this mascara definitely passed the test. It layered beautifully, made my lashes appear thicker, and it also lengthened my lashes great. On my bottom lashes, the mascara really made them pop and it helped to add a dramatic yet natural look.
I’ve found that this mascara really does a great job of giving an actual lash extension look, all while being your real lashes. My eyelashes looked super long, very separated so there was no clumping, and they lasted all day.
I want to quickly mention that this mascara really did wonders for making my lashes appear longer, however, it didn’t do much for curling them since it is more of a straight wand. If you want to get a bit of volume on your lashes, I recommend layering a curling mascara right on top to do the trick. One of my favorite volumizing mascaras is the L’Oreal Voluminous Curved Brush Mascara, and it layered great on top of the Thrive Mascara.
When it came to the mascara, I was already totally obsessed with how the formula applied and made my lashes look. However, one of the other intriguing parts of this mascara to me was its wearability and how it worked when it came to removing it. As far wearability is concerned, I found that this mascara wears great throughout the day. When you first apply it, the formula is a bit wet, however, once it dries there is absolutely no transfer. Throughout the day, the mascara doesn’t transfer on my eyelids, and it also doesn’t lose it’s length or anything along those lines.
The best part about this mascara is that it doesn’t smudge along my lower lash line. I struggle with mascara transferring from my bottom lashes constantly, especially because I liked to build up my bottom lashes so they look super long, and this mascara doesn’t transfer whatsoever which is so amazing. One of the things that make me so obsessed with this formula is how natural and whispy it makes my lashes look. The mascara applicator/wand has so many tiny bristles on it, which basically ensures that every single lash will be coated in mascara giving you a super fanned out, natural, and separated look.
The first time that I removed this mascara, I was super curious to see what this tubing formula was all about, and if it was really worth it. To remove my mascara, I usually use my favorite Garnier Micellar Water, followed by some warm water to really get every bit of mascara off of my lashes. I can’t even begin to explain how skeptical I was to remove this mascara with only warm water since it was against pretty much everything that I was used to.
I took some warm water to my eyes, and I was amazed at what I saw. Since this mascara is a tubing mascara, when you apply warm water to it, it comes off in little tubes/clumps. It seems a bit strange but this makes it so easy to remove every last bit of product, and the best part of all, it doesn’t give you raccoon eyes when you’re removing it! Although I initially thought it was a gimmick, this product made me a huge believer in tubing mascaras. It’s so simple, doesn’t require any additional makeup remover, and it is not a messy process whatsoever!
Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara | Final Thoughts
All in all, I can wholeheartedly say that the Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara is definitely worth all of the praise that it gets, and it quickly became one of my favorite mascara’s. The lightweight formula makes my lashes look super lengthened and fuller throughout the day, all while not smudging, clumping, or flaking. Although this mascara isn’t my top choice when it comes to adding volume to my lashes, it works great when layered underneath more volumizing formulas to give you out of this world length to your lashes.
One of the last major hits of this mascara is removing it. Who would’ve thought removing a mascara could be enjoyable?! The tubing formula of this product makes it super easy and hassle-free to get every bit of product out, all without any mess! If you’ve been curious about this mascara and wanted to see exactly what the hype is all about, I HIGHLY recommend giving this one of a kind mascara a try, and hopefully, you’ll love it as much as I do!
